The world-renowned Tribeca Film Festival is taking its next step into the world of Web3 technology, by offering VIP passes as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Developed in partnership with the Seychelles-based crypto exchange OKX, the passes will provide exclusive access to film screenings, parties, and other perks.

The NFTs will be minted on the Ethereum blockchain and are priced at $899. Those who wish to purchase the VIP passes can do so directly from the Tribeca website using a credit card, or alternatively, experienced NFT collectors can purchase them through the OKX NFT marketplace using ether (ETH). The design of the NFT artwork was inspired by the landscapes of Lower Manhattan, where the festival will be taking place from June 7-18.

Nate Zou, head of Web3 products at OKX, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and the possibilities of bringing the event into the realm of blockchain technology. “[The Tribeca audience] is perfectly spread across all different demographics – from elderly people to millennials,” he said. “We are excited to use blockchain technologies to reach new audiences and bring the event into Web3.”

The Tribeca Film Festival has consistently pushed the boundaries of the film industry, and this year’s foray into the world of NFTs is no different. It is set to provide users with an unprecedented level of accessibility and access to the events, as well as a unique and secure way for VIP pass holders to receive their passes. With this move, Tribeca is certain to be a pioneer in the NFT space, and it will be exciting to see what else they bring to the table this year.
